The world of the equatorial forest is a complex and rich vegetation ecosystem of the earth. It is located in a hot equatorial climate zone . There are trees with valuable wood, medicinal plants , trees and bushes with exotic fruits, magnificent flowers. These forests are difficult to reach, so their flora and fauna has not been studied enough. At least in the equatorial moist forests , about 3 thousand trees and more than 20 thousand flowering species of flora grow.
Equatorial forests can be found in the following parts of the world:
- in Southeast Asia;
- in Africa;
- In South America.
Different levels of the equatorial forest
The basis of the equatorial forest is trees that grow in several tiers. Their trunks are entwined with vines. Trees reach 80 meters in height. The bark on them is very thin and flowers and fruits grow directly on it. In the forests, many species of ficus and palm trees, bamboo plants and ferns grow. Here are more than 700 species of orchids. Among the tree species you can find banana and coffee trees.

Also in the forests, cocoa tree is common, the fruits of which are used in medicine, cooking, cosmetology.
Rubber is extracted from Brazilian Hevea.
Palm oil is used to make palm oil, which is used all over the world for the manufacture of creams, shower gels, soaps, ointments and various cosmetic, hygiene products, for the production of margarine and candles.
Ceiba is another type of plant whose seeds are used in soap making. Fiber is extracted from its fruits, which is then used to stuff toys and furniture, which makes them soft. Also this material is used for soundproofing. Among the interesting species of flora of the equatorial forests, it is worth mentioning ginger plants and mangrove trees .
At the middle and lower levels of the equatorial forest, mosses, lichens and mushrooms, ferns and grasses can be found. Reeds grow in places. Shrubs in these ecosystems practically do not exist. The plants of the lower tier have rather wide foliage, but the higher the plants, the leaves are reduced.
The equatorial forest occupies a wide strip of several continents. Here the flora grows in rather hot and humid conditions, which ensures its diversity. Quite a lot of trees grow, which are of various heights, and flowers and fruits cover their trunks. Such thickets are almost untouched by man, they look wild and beautiful.
