The warm season has already come, and most of our compatriots went to help their parents in the gardens, or sunbathe in the dachas. In order for our work not to be in vain, and in the fall we could see an excellent harvest, we should be concerned about the fertility of the land. Fertility is the ability of the earth to satisfy the plant's needs for minerals and fertilizers. It should be remembered that the soil is tired, and can not constantly give a good harvest, with each sowing season, soil fertility gradually disappears. Therefore, we should think about our land, because land is an inexhaustible source of wealth. No wonder our predecessors were proud of the fertility of our chernozems. Let us try to consider in what ways it is possible to return its strength to the earth.
Combination of crops
The most popular, and at the same time environmentally friendly way, is to combine crops. It should give the land rest, but so that the last juices from it do not drink weeds, it should be looked after. The combination method consists in sowing garden crops that fill the earth with minerals. It has long been known that if you let the earth rest for a year and sow it, for example, with buckwheat, then the next season the crop will be very high. But we don’t need to give a simple plot to our land, in addition to the main culture, we can also plant some other plant there that will feed our land and its neighboring plants with its beneficial substances. The most successful cultures for combining, in the neighborhood with which everything that can be grown are buckwheat, hyssop and mustard.
These garden crops differ from their “colleagues” in that they do not absorb the nutritional properties, but give them to the soil. In addition, the root system of these plants is quite branched, which allows the soil not to get trampled, but to be soft and fluffy, and to pass water without hindrance. As we have already said, this is such a "grandfather" method, which has come to us long ago, from our great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers.
Fertilizer use when planting
Another way to fertilize the land is to use fertilizers when planting. Fertilizers in general can be divided into 2 categories: natural and chemical. Natural fertilizers usually include compost, bird droppings, and manure. Compost can be prepared at home, to do this, pour over the ripened walnut foliage with water, add onion peelings and let it brew for several days in a dark and cool place. Also, biohumus can be attributed to natural fertilizer, it is a product of processing earthworms, which is saturated with calcium and phosphorus, which will beneficially affect the crop. In recent years, in various stores, before the start of the planting season, live earthworms are sold so that vermicompost is natural (no one knows what they sell in stores under the guise of a fertilizer).
Chemicalized fertilizers can be purchased at any outlet. Most often, seasoned summer residents use nitrogen crystals, solutions containing calcium and magnesium, and many other means. It is only important to remember that chemical fertilizers act as a kind of doping for plants and soil, and if you do not want to completely ruin the fertility of your land, do not overdo it with chemicals. It is much easier to use natural “stimulants”, they certainly will not do any harm. Well, you can survive the unpleasant aroma for the sake of a smart crop.
